Readings: Amos 7: 12-15; Eph 1: 3-14; Mk 6: 7-13
The readings of the day remind us about the mission that is entrusted to us by our Lord Jesus. If we follow the instructions given by him, we will be blessed by him forever.
Everyone in the world is invited to proclaim the good news, irrespective of the profession that they are in. God sees the heart and not our profession. I am also invited to proclaim the gospel by being faithful and committed in my work.
In the present world, I can proclaim the gospel even by being in the house. St. Theresa of Lisieux became the patroness of all the missionaries even when she did not go out of monastery, but because she prayed at all times. At present I may not be able to go outside the house, but still can proclaim Jesus in different ways to people around me. The ways are difficult but not impossible.
By following the pandemic rules, I can help people in my own little ways, with food, resources and whatever possible. These are the ways I can be a missionary to the world. At the end of the day, I must acknowledge that all the works are done in accordance with the will of God. In that way I can become the bearer of love, hope, and healing in the society.
