Readings: Gen 2: 18-25; Mk 7: 24-30
Today the readings are inviting us to have perseverance in our faith journey. We are living in a world of sin and information that may mislead us. Our eyes of wisdom are closed by world of fantasy and temporary pleasures. I must realize that I am not of this world and purpose of my life is totally different. When I realize and work on my purpose, I am doing the will of God.
Farmers have been fighting for their rights because they found their purpose in farming and feeding the humanity. Farming is not just working alone for them rather everything in life. They were not ready to give up and stood against the government for their rights. The government failed to realize that we can live without the capitalist, modern gadgets etc. But cannot we live without food. We can be Jesus for those people who are fighting for their rights in many ways like praying for them. We can help them in all ways possible and not waste food because the value of the food is known only by a farmer. We know the value of anything when we worked very hard for it.
We Christians are called to be “Alter Christus” which means another Christ. I personally am convinced by the readings that I must never give up doing well, irrespective of consequences. I must persevere in my faith journey just like the mother in the gospel. My conviction helps me to reach Jesus and fulfill the purpose of my life.
