Readings: Rev 14: 14 – 19; Lk 21: 5 – 11

The readings for today invite us to reflect on the themes of judgment, faithfulness, and the end times. In the first reading, we encounter the image of the Son of Man sitting on a cloud, wearing a crown of gold and holding a sharp sickle in his hand, ready to reap the harvest of the earth.

This imagery serves as a reminder that God is the ultimate judge, and we will all be held accountable for our actions and words. In the gospel, Jesus warns us against being swayed by false prophets and urges us not to be frightened by the signs of the end times. He reassures us that while these events must occur, the end has not yet come. Today, we are called to remain faithful until our last breath, trusting in God’s providence, justice, mercy, and love. We are accountable for our own words and deeds.

As we reflect on these readings, let us ask ourselves: Are we living in a way that is pleasing to God? Are we staying faithful to him, even when faced with challenges and difficulties? Let us pray for the strength and courage to persevere in our faith and to trust in God’s goodness, holiness, and love.
