Today we celebrate the feast of the body and blood of Jesus Christ. This feast reminds us of the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ, where sin and death have been destroyed by Jesus.
The body and blood of Christ strengthens us to win over evil, with assurances of hope and renewing us. Through his body and blood, he wants to cure us of all illness and inner wounds and bring us back from our sinful attitudes. Jesus does all things because he loves us.
We all like to live good lives filled with happiness and prosperity, but do not want pain and suffering or a miserable life. We have no time to meet people who need us, but we have time to enjoy our life with friends; we have nothing to give to the poor, but we have everything in our life.
Through the gospel, Jesus tells us that by helping the poor and needy, we are not losing any position, rather we gain eternal rewards from God. It is a reminder for us to cultivate the virtues of Jesus. For this, we need to be more compassionate towards others, especially to the poor, needy, and suffering. We should learn from Jesus that he gave up his life on the Cross.
Today, he tells us that if we receive his body and blood, we will gain a new life. It is an invitation for us to change our lifestyle and live the life of Jesus.
