In the gospel today, Jesus accepted the woman who was a sinner by not complaining and blaming her for her past sins but with appreciation for her good deeds. He forgives her and gives her his love and peace.
The world today which is facing war, violence, and conflicts is seeking love and peace. There seems to be an attitude of revenge among the world leaders who are not ready to love and forgive. This phenomenon happens in our families too where the members of a family are not ready to forgive each other. Many have requested me to pray for peace in their families.
Through my conversations with families, I found out that they have many complaints against each other as they are not ready to accept them for who they are or forgive them for what they have done. It is easy to forgive a stranger and we normally excuse them and accept their apology. But when it comes to people we know, it is a struggle to accept and forgive.
Jesus challenges us to accept and love those whom we know and consider as our offenders. The process of peace starts with acceptance, leading to love and forgiveness to bring peace. Let us start accepting others as they are and not condemn them for their past but appreciate them for their good deeds.
