Miao: Miao Diocese in Arunachal Pradesh celebrated its annual Chrism Mass with a special prayer for fair elections on 4 April at Sacred Heart Parish Church, Neotan.
“We are very close to the Holy Week and also the state and centre elections are around the corner. Both the days are very important. As we will be reflecting on the Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection, let us also pray for fair election and people elect the right leaders to take the country forward”, said Most Rev. George Pallipparambil, Bishop of Miao Diocese.
Addressing the gathering of 200 priests and nuns gathered from all around eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh, Bishop George reminded everyone to exercise the adult franchise without fail. “Your vote is your right to shape the country. Do cast your vote and advise the people to do so too”, he said.
The Chrism Mass at the Sacred Heart Church at Neotan was preceded by Eucharistic Adoration and Sacrament of Reconciliation.
At the end of the Mass, the people of the village greeted the Priests with Tangsa tribal traditional stole and congratulated them on the day of Priesthood.
