Roing: A seven-day youth leadership prorgamme for girls conducted by Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh administration held at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Roing concluded on Sunday, 10 July 2022.
A total of 25 girl participants, mostly college students, from across Lower Dibang Valley (LDB) selected on the basis of written applications and personal interviews attended the leadership and capacity building prorgamme from 4 to 10 July.
Speaking to the participants at the concluding day prorgamme, Chief Guest, Mutchu Mithi, Member of Legislative Assemblyfrom LBD, said, “I believe in the leadership of the young people of Lower Dibang Valley. I believe most of you will make it big not just in Arunachal Pradesh but in the country and even in the world”.
The week long event dealt with topics like understanding self, understanding community, personality development, entrepreneurship and community building.
Citing the example of Draupadi Murmu, presidential candidate of the ruling party, Mithi said, “Nothing can stop you if you the have will to succeed. Let no obstacle stop you to build your life on the foundation that has been laid by this training”.
Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh had an interactive session with the participants on the basics of administrative structure and encouraged them ‘to use the learning from the programme as an opportunity and also a platform to become spearheading social leaders’.
The resource persons of the training were Momee Pegu, Social Entrepreneur, Majuli, Assam, Nimina Namchoom, DIPRO, LDV, Roing, Raja Linggi, Asst. Professor Political Science, Dr. Razzaeko Delley, Asst. Professor, English, Nini Pertin, Entrepreneur, Dibang Egg Farm, Ninna Lego, Social Entrepreneur Macnok, Arunachal Pradesh, Felix Anthony, Personality Development Felicitator, Sonal Roshan, Life Skill Felicitator and Arunavh Dam, Community Building Coordinator, Muhaan, Kalimpong.
Ushimi Linggi, the project head of the Dibang Youth Leadership Programme, congratulating all the participants said, “The training has ended but your role as contributors to the society begins now. There will be review programme on monthly basisto check your progress and the district administration will help you along the way”.
The valedictory function came to conclusion with distribution of certificates to all the participants.
