No one is born perfect and there is no one whose life cannot be transformed. There are good and bad elements found in each person. At times, we present ourselves as weeds, and sometimes, as good seeds. God is good and he sows good seeds in each one, whereas Satan is bad, and he allows to grow weeds
in us.
It is our personal responsibility to allow to grow in us either good seeds or those weeds which can destroy our lives. All of us are aware that good seeds always bear good fruits if only we give good care and nurture them. But in the case of bad seeds, they do not need our care, and they simply grow. They slowly ruin the growth of the good seeds and therefore, we need to clear them off at times.
A covenant renewal ceremony is being performed at Mount Sinai, with Moses reading the book of the covenant to the people. The people seriously make their pledge and solemn promise to Yahweh to remain faithful to the covenant. I am invited to live out faithfully that covenant among the growing weeds whether in families, in society, and in the church.
