In the gospel today, Jesus is at the wedding in Cana, and he is in demand. He knows his time has not yet come. This is what he tells his mother too. But the need of the hour made Jesus go out of his comfort zone and perform the miracle of turning water into wine. Jesus could have just attended the marriage and gone back home, but the need of the people made him perform the miracle.
This generous attitude of Jesus calls me to be patient and not to lose heart during moments when I am taken for granted in the process of helping others. Many times, I feel that I will just stop this work, and it is going out of my capacity and taking a lot of my time. We face situations in life when we have to compromise and go out of our comfort zone. It is difficult to be happy and content in those situations. But there is always a first time for everything.
When we go out of our comfort zone and give our service to others, we can either become a blessing to them or we can learn some lessons in our life.
With the miracle at Cana, Jesus invites us to go out of our comfort zone and render service. He will surely help us to be a visible sign of the kingdom.
