Readings: Acts 18:23-28; Jn 16:23-28
Today’s first reading narrates the missionary journey of St. Paul. The missionary journey is a blessing. In his journey towards God’s mission, St. Paul finds many competent personalities. All those he met were wise and filled with knowledge of the scriptures. He found favour with them.
The gospel tells us about the generous heart of God. Jesus assures that those who ask God in his name will never lack anything. He is always ready to provide for our needs. The point I need to ask myself is, ‘what do I need’? Is it power, wealth, and
position? Or am I in need of peace, joy, and forgiveness?
Today, Jesus invites me to open a new chapter in my life where I can fully depend on God. I can seek God in and through the person of Jesus. God is compassionate, merciful, and kind-hearted to
humanity. He chose to live among the marginalized and the poor.
Among them, many were physically challenged, some were blind and uneducated. Yet he considered them and provided for their needs. He showed special care for them throughout his life journey. Jesus tells me that God is loving, living, giving and forgiving. Through the gospel, Jesus reminds me not to go along
with this world but recognise the deeds and wonders of the Lord and be always dependent on God.
