Readings: Jas 4:1-10; Mk 9:30-37
The first reading says that grace is not for the proud, but it is for those who are humble. God tells each one, if we are sinners we need to be purify our heart. Whoever is addicted to the worldly things will be enemy of God.
The gospel reading tells about childlikeness. We all like children. We like to take them in our hands and play with them because children are innocent in front of others. If we scold a child, child will start to cry. But as adults if we receive scolding we may not cry because, we will keep that incident in our mind.
We react differently, but the children don’t know how to react. They only know how to cry. We ponder over the incident and look for a chance to give back, but in the case of children they forget, and they will come back to the world of childlikeness. Through the both readings Jesus invites each one saying that whoever lives an innocent and humble life like children can receive God in their lives.
