I look forward to having the normal life we all had before the time of pandemic, like everyone else who is affected by it. I feel that the new normal in these trying times brings changes into my life.
These changes demand certain behavioral aspects and a disciplined lifestyle to adapt to the new normal. At times I do not understand the blessings of the present struggles as I complain, grumble, and am afraid to be open to the changes. Perhaps the Israelites did the same when they complained about the food in the desert while adapting to the new normal conditions at that
time. But God was so understanding and compassionate in providing for their sustenance. The people who received the word of God in faith prospered and reached the Promised Land.
This is the challenge of going through tough times like the current pandemic while holding on to faith in the Lord that he would guide us through it. Through the Gospel, Jesus invites me to be a good soil prepared for a big harvest. In order to become a fertile land, the soil has to undergo a process of weeding, composting, and manuring. The fertile soil is the heart which God looks into for a spiritual cultivation. I understand that the inner life, the formation of the heart is built on Jesus alone who is the strength of my soul. So, do I compromise and complain about the spiritual
practices during the pandemic? Or will I be committed to a life of
faith by going through the changes in spiritual life.
