In the gospel, the prayer of the friend is answered not because of the friendship but because of the persistence in asking for it. All our prayers are not answered in the same manner.
For some, their prayers are answered very soon, but for some it takes a long time. And for some people, their prayers may not even be answered. We believe that God always has a plan in answering the prayers quickly, delaying in answering the prayers, and he may have another plan in not answering certain prayers. God the Father in heaven wants to give us the Holy Spirit in abundance and therefore some of our prayers are not answered or are delayed in answering.
There is a saying which goes like this- ‘Pray, not until God hears you, but until you listen to God’. Many a time I engage in prayer to which I attach some kind of time limit for God to answer. When I look at my life, once God answers my prayer I have the tendency to stop praying. But if the prayer is not answered I continue till I get. Through the gospel Jesus invites me to keep praying so that I can keep myself connected to the Lord forever
