Faithfulness is one of the key principles in our life. When we are faithful to our given responsibility people reward us with good words and in a family also when a husband or wife is faithful to their commitment family prospers, similarly when the religious are faithful in their call God rewards us with so many graces.
Saint Paul speaks about the enemies of the cross and the Christians who are the citizens of heaven. When we are faithful, Jesus will transform our lives, and we become the citizens of Heaven.
In the gospel of today, we see the nature of a dishonest manager, who uses his cunning ideas to manipulate people because he was worried about his future.
Though the master praised him for his practical ideas, it is a lesson for us to learn from this parable that we need to be cleaver to secure eternal life by living faithful in the commitment we have made through our baptism that is to renounce the work of Satan and to be faithful to God. It is an invitation for all of us to be faithful in our words and deeds, as saint mother Teresa rightly said “Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.
Today let us ask the Lord to give us the strength to be faithful in our words and the little deeds that we perform in our day-to-day living.
