Readings: Ezek 47:1-9,12; Jn 5:1-16
Is there anything holding us back from the Lord’s healing power and transforming grace that can set us free to live in wholeness, joy, and peace with God? Through the readings, God invites us to
be healed of all our vices. God approaches us every day through various events and circumstances with the same question he asked the paralysed man, ‘do you want to be healed?’ It is we
who do not heed to God’s voice. Intentionally or unintentionally, we try to avoid it because it disturbs our interest and comfort.
Yes, if the word of God is really disturbing to us, it means that we have understood the message of what God wants from us and what he wants us to do in our day to day living. God’s love is for
all and it is free, provided we approach him with the same intention of the sick man, i.e., to be healed.
God will grant us the grace too to overcome all possible temptations that block us in desiring to be healed by God, because we are his children. So, let us grab the opportunity during this Lent, which is the season of grace, to go towards him with a desire to be healed of our vices
that are preventing us from loving God and seeing God in our neighbours.
