Readings: Dan 7:2-14; Lk 21: 29 – 33 –
Today the readings remind us the power of the Word of God. St. Ambrose of Milan said, “When you pray you speak to God but when you read the Word of God, God speaks to you.”
Everything under the earth has an expiry date including human beings. But the Word of God has no expiry date. The Word of God is eternal, and it continues to live on whether we like it or not. It will remain today, tomorrow and forever. It contains all the sweetness of truth, love, peace and happiness that will endure forever.
The Word of God is powerful because it centres around the acronym CHRIST. The Word of God Challenges the way we live our lives. It Heals us of all our sicknesses, worries, tensions, problems and so on. It Reveals to us the plan that God has for you and for me. It Instructs us how to chose and live the way of Christ. It Strengthen us in our weaknesses. Lastly the Word of God Transforms our lives to be better persons. However, many of us do not want to listen, read and reflect on the Word of God because we do not want to change ourselves to be good children of God.
Have you experienced the power of the Word of God in your life? To be able to experience the power of the Word of God in our lives, we are invited first of all to Welcome the Word of God in our hearts. Secondly, to Open our hearts for the Word of God to dwell in. Thirdly, to Radiate and share the Word of God with the others. Lastly, to Devote ourselves totally to the Word of God everyday of our lives in order to build a firm and strong relationship and intimacy with the Lord.
