Readings: Acts 2:36-41; Jn 20:11-18
Love is a great miracle in our life. It makes everyone happy, and a person is ever ready to do everything for her/his beloved. Love can transform, change, heal and do great things in life.
In the first reading, we see on Pentecost day all the disciples were transformed, inspired and they were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. We know Peter was a person full of confusion, frightened and denied Jesus. But he was completely transformed and filled with the Holy Spirit and brought thousands of people to Christ by spreading God’s love and made them
repent for their sins and baptised them.
In the gospel we see Mary Magdalene as a woman who used to be close to Jesus. She loves Jesus with her whole life. The cruel death of Jesus made her shattered and lifeless. One day her love for Jesus made her go to the tomb. As she went, did not expect that Jesus will be raised.
How much pain and shock she must have gone through when Jesus’ body was not found in the tomb. Due to her pain and shock, she could not recognize Jesus. So, she thought Jesus was a gardener. However, after some time, she recognizes his voice speaking to her and realized
that he was Jesus. Magdalene was filled with joy and happiness, and she hurries up to her companions to say that she saw Jesus.
Have we ever experienced risen Lord in our life? If so, we need to be joyful Christians in our daily living and we must proclaim Christ joyfully with our words and actions throughout life. The very moment we announced Christ to people, we proclaim Christ death and resurrection too. Let us be joyful bearers of good news and pray to risen Christ that each of us may take a step to be a joyful messenger of Christ to others.
