Be Like a Mustard Seed

Readings: Eph 5:21-33; Lk 13:18-21

“My soul is restless until it rests in you.” We all dream of a happy and blissful life but focusing on the wrong ingredients may lead to a disastrous experience. When we focus on wrong things, something that we have been working hard on may make our life terrible towards the end.

The readings of the day pave way for me to experience joy and bliss in life. The assurance of blessedness does not promise me a smooth life. In fact, it assures me of the blessedness that comes out of an obedient submission to Christ. The kingdom of God is not a place where I can find all pleasures of life but a stage where I can walk through the hardships but still can smile and experience joy in my heart.

St. Paul invites me to observe the teachings of Jesus faithfully because God is the only one who can adopt me and give identity of child of God. Jesus knows that if I have a little desire to be in his kingdom, it can still increase like a mustard seed. My first small move is equally important as my destiny.
