The gospel of the day teaches us the importance of sharing and offering ourselves through loving God and neighbor simultaneously. The person who respects and knows God offers his/her humble offerings to God and is happy to offer any amount of big and small offerings. And in the life of the poor widow, she offers only two coins, but with satisfaction and contentment.
Some people offer gifts to get respect and honors, some people offer because it is obligatory, and some people offer from their generous heart without any expectations and demands. And Jesus saw what the poor widow did, and he recognized that she was faithful and sincere, and generous in offering all that she had.
People with no money are starving and find it difficult to meet their daily needs. How can we reach out to them? We do not need to give money to help people, instead, we can give them whatever we have, maybe food, time, skills, consolation, or even some words of hope and love.
How much we give does not matter in the eyes of God but the attitude with which we give or share. God sees all that we are, all that we do, and all that we say. Let us be sensitive to the people who are around us and allow ourselves to be judged by God himself.
