After the very elegant and grand celebration of Christmas, the liturgy turns back to its ordinary days to meditate on the purpose of incarnated Jesus which he has to fulfill in accordance with the Scriptures. Today, the word of God, invites us to meditate on the theme, “Arise to shine”.
Today’s Gospel reading is the fulfillment of first reading. Jesus instructs each of one of us that the Kingdom of God: Peace, Joy, Happiness, Righteousness, love etc. is close to us. Are we ready to come out of the darkness that spread due to our weakness and sinful life to see the light of salvation?
The call of his first disciples is the loving call to each one of us, to be a light of hope, peace, Joy and love; It is the mission Jesus entrusted us that we become the light, arise from our past to shine and spread the light in the life of others as a sign of hope. The teachings of Jesus sink deeply in our hearts to illumine our inner world and to radiate and enlighten our family, community, our world with true Gospel values and virtues. Let us be the torch-bearer of the blessed Gospel light to arise and shine, share and spread Peace, Joy, Hope, Love and Happiness.
