Jesus preached the kingdom of God and the mission he entrusted to his disciples also was the proclamation of the kingdom.
Today In the gospel we see Jesus is on an active mission. He is going around proclaiming the good news with his apostles and some women disciples.
Jesus was inclusive of all sections of people. Some were healed of their diseases. It was good news for them that they were healed, and something unexpected happened in their lives through the person of Jesus. It is a great blessing in their life and family. It was a great joy that they were no more isolated. In God’s eyes, no discrimination, man and woman all are equal and are important.
And today Jesus represents the face of the Father before the world, exactly providing his bountiful mercy and love to men and women during his mission. Jesus became good news to those who were healed.
Dear friends, Jesus’ proclamation of the Kingdom is handed over to his disciples and to those who promised that Jesus is the Lord. The responsibility of bringing the good news and becoming the good news for the people of God is our duty.
Many times, we disvalue and disrespect our helpers, women, and their service in the church and society, so we need to accept them equally and work together. If so, we can create the kingdom of God in our lives and in our societies and mission places. Let us pray that we may become the bearer of the good news wherever we are.
