Becoming Members of the Same Family

Readings: Ez 6:7-8, 12, 14-20; Lk 8:19-21

The readings of the day invite me to be an authentic, passionate, faithful and spiritual Christian. People seek to discover the will of God in a variety of ways. Today the first reading portrays joy and hope. The people of Israel had a plan to rebuild the temple of God. It made them so much closer to Yahweh and the people remembered their days of old. So, as a person who goes every day to chapel to see and experience the Lord in my daily life, how much more joyful and happy person I should be.

Gospel reading invites me to have a deeper trust in the Lord. I was deeply touched by the words spoken by Jesus. It also made me ponder upon the words, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.” I believe that through this the Lord invites me to be a person of prayer, love, and unity. We experience that prayer brings the community together and we become members of the same family.

So, it is our privilege that we can come to one place to worship and express our love and concern for all of our brothers and sisters.
