Bengaluru: The 34th Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) Plenary Assembly will be held at St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, from 13 th to 19th February, 2020. Over 200 active bishops and 64 retired bishops from] 74 dioceses and the chairmen and executive secretaries from 14 CBCI offices will participate in it.
The Plenary Assembly is organized by CBCI, the apex body of the Catholic Church in India, which has approximately 22 million adherents in the country.
During the assembly, they will deliberate on the Theme: Dialogue – The Path to Truth and Charity. In today’s context, especially in the present situation in our country, dialogue is an important virtue to promote harmony and solidarity among all the sections of the society.
The Catholic Church, along with other Christian churches and religious sects, is promoting harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood among all the people of India transcending religious, linguistic and regional or sectional diversities. CBCI has been committing itself to take action to promote a culture of peace and dialogue at local, regional and national levels through its selfless and dedicated services.
His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias, President of the CBCI and the CBCI Office-bearers and His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Metropolitan Archbishop of Bangalore among others will also be present.
