The Cover Page of this Book, artistically designed by Mr. Lijo John, transports the reader to a galaxy of Salesian Sisters, who traversed the mighty ocean that transported them to the Indian Soil. They thus sowed the seed of the Salesian charism which grew and blossomed. They slowly, surely and steadily came to know how this charism embraces, one of the most burning issues of today – the Care of Our Common Home.

On 24th November 2021, the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco, India organized an online meet to launch the 3rd Year in preparation for the centenary of the arrival of the first FMA Missionaries to India (1922-2022).

One of the significant moments of this meet was the release of the book authored by Sr. Alice Chacko FMA titled: Come, Let us Journey Together into Our Common Home. It was released by: Sr. Meenkshi D’Silva – Provincial, fma India, Bombay & Vice-President of the Provincial Conference of India. The first copy of the book was handed over to  Siddharth Bagul, from the youth group of Maria Bhavan, Bableshwar, one of the Salesian Sisters communities in the peripheries. Sr. Alka Almeida, the animator of the community saw to the details of the release.

The author of this book is a great lover of nature and an experienced educator with 17 years of teaching in Auxilium College, Katpadi, India. The book considers a wide range of topics, covering all aspects of creation. This book follows a Specific Methodology coloured with the Salesian Charism. A specific blueprint consisting of four aspects of the Salesian spirituality runs across each session: In the Spirit of the Family, Encounter, Word in the Ear and Friendly Presence.


Sr Teresa Joseph, FMA is a Salesian Sister of the Bombay Province. She holds a masters degree in Science of Education with specialization in Catechetics from Auxilium Rome and a PhD in Missiology with specialization in Inter-religious Studies from the Gregorian University Rome.

Sr Teresa is a freelance writer and contributes articles for various journals in India and abroad. Her recent publications include Dream Big Dream True and Family of Truth: The Liminal Context of Inter-Religious Dialogue. She has launched and co-edited an animation book for the family titled Stay Connected in the Circle of Love (2007).
