Don Bosco Youth Centre, Koregaon Park, Pune has brought out a thought provoking masterpiece: Dream Yourself into Reality. What makes this book special is that it is written by a budding author. The book is divided into 4 parts with selected topics that range from: A Real Human Being to the Locket.

In the foreword to this book, Ian Doulton SDB writes: “It is not very often that one comes across a book of essays written to meet the need of a teenager or a young adult and (what is more) by a young adult. That is what makes the author’s offering something really unique. This book is one more reason why one cannot write off today’s young adults. They have stuff that many seniors could not have fathomed. This talent expressed within these covers is available to readers of any age.”

Sr. Meena D’Silva, Provincial FMA India, Bombay released the book on 12 February 2022 at Auxilium Convent, Baroda and offered the first copy to Sr. Smita Tairipascu one of the young Salesian Sisters of Bombay Province. Copies of the book were given to 34 communities of the Sisters and to a few friends and well-wishers.

Anastasia Rose Dias is currently pursuing her Master’s in Mathematics at Loyola College, Chennai. She believes that human beings should find a medium for expression in life. Right from her childhood, she has found expression in writing. She loves writing short stories, essays and poetry. This is her first book.

To capture the richness of this book, one has to get glued to what he or she is reading, don’t miss out on the clues given, and be ready to learn, unlearn and relearn. Have the courage to act promptly and take one’s life into proper hands etc. Ready, Get set, here we begin an interrogative journey into the book: Mind you, the Foreword is a must read. Part One has a secret mantra that only you and you alone can make it come alive: Turn to page 21 of the book; grab it and stay with it.

In Part Two, Anastasia takes the reader deep into life’s realities. At times she suggests, questions are often thrown directly to you; sometimes she is so powerful that you can’t just escape. Journeying into Part Three; you are drawn into adventurous encounters with persons who can give you that extra push and zest for life. Part Four will once again make you touch the real facts of life like the Love you took for granted, The Price of real love etc. “The Locket” brings this book to a brilliant conclusion with memories that will linger on and with the loving invitation to go on refining the gift of life day after day with the finest touches of genuine love.

Amastasia has dedicated this book to her grandparents, who instilled in her the courage to dream, to her parents, who worked tirelessly, so that she could achieve her dreams, to her brother, sister and to you, dear reader, who have dreams of your own.

It would be simply amazing if many of us could read this book during this year 2022 to let ourselves be transformed by the power of words, images and lived experiences that are knit together so elegantly in it.
