New Delhi/ Mumbai: Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his second election in an even bigger landslide win than the first one, the Archbishop of Bombay & President, Catholic Bishops Conference of India, His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias, on behalf of the Catholic Church in India, extended his heartiest greetings.
In a letters addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cardinal said, “On behalf of the Catholic Church in India, and on my own behalf, I extend my heartiest congratulations to you and to the Bharatiya Janata Party on the emphatic election victory. The people of India have given a clear mandate for a stable and effective Government. My congratulations to the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party Mr. Amit Shah.”
Assuring him of his prayers, the Cardinal reiterated that, “I want to assure you of our prayers and best wishes for you and your team as you lead our country in building a strong and inclusive India. At a public function yesterday we prayed that God gives you health, wisdom and strength to carry out the great responsibilities entrusted to you.”
