Readings: Is 9:2-7; Lk 1:26-38

As we celebrate the Queenship of Mother Mary, we reflect on her lifelong faithfulness and acceptance of God’s will. Today’s readings highlight Mary’s response, “Let it be done according to your word” (Luke 1:38), which defined her life and led to her being crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth.

From the Annunciation, where Mary responded with a courageous “yes,” to her unwavering trust through Jesus’s birth, their flight to Egypt, and his crucifixion, Mary’s faith never wavered. She continually embraced God’s plan, even in difficult times, showing steadfast faith and acceptance. Mary’s journey teaches us that true greatness comes from humble obedience and trust in God’s promises. Her path to queenship was marked by faithfulness in both ordinary and extraordinary moments. By following her example and saying “yes” to God in our lives, we participate in his divine plan. Mary’s life reminds us that with God, nothing is impossible.

As we honor her today, we are encouraged to trust in God’s plan, find strength in his presence, and allow him to guide our steps. Let us ask for Mary’s intercession to grow in faith and trust. By following her example, we open our hearts to God’s guidance, seeing that our faithfulness, no matter how humble, is precious in his eyes.
