Readings: Acts 10: 34a, 37-43; Col 3: 1-4; Jn 20: 1-9
Today the readings invite all of us to reflect on the transformative power of Christ’s resurrection. In the Acts of the Apostles, we hear Peter boldly proclaiming the message of salvation.
This passage reminds me that the gift of salvation is available to all who believe, regardless of their background or status. It is a message of inclusivity and hope, inviting me to embrace the grace and forgiveness offered through Christ’s sacrificial love.
In Colossians, the apostle Paul challenges me to set my mind on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. This is a call to shift my focus from the temporal concerns of this world to the eternal truths of the resurrection. By fixing my gaze on Christ, I am reminded of my identity as a child of God and heir to the promise of eternal life. This passage encourages me to live with a heavenly perspective, allowing the reality of Christ’s victory over sin and death to shape my thoughts, attitudes, and actions.
In the gospel, I witness the profound mystery of the empty tomb and Mary Magdalene’s encounter with the risen Christ. Mary’s journey from grief to joy serves as a powerful reminder that even in my darkest moments, there is hope and redemption to be found in Christ. The resurrection is not merely a historical event but a present reality that continues to transform lives and bring newness of life to all who believe in the empty tomb.
As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus let us allow the truth of Christ’s resurrection to penetrate our hearts and minds. May we be inspired to live as Easter people, filled with the hope and joy that comes from knowing that Christ is risen indeed. Let us embrace the message of salvation, set our minds on things above, and bear witness to the transformative power of the resurrection in our lives and the world around us. May the joy of Easter fill our hearts today and always.
