We are living in a world where one does not worry about the other. Rules and regulations have overtaken human values in life. For a working person, s/he has to be on time for job. He may see many things happening on the way to the workplace, but he does not worry about them rather worries that his boss may fire him. So for him what he does is right because he does not want to lose his job or have a problem with the boss.
In today’s world, this is what you and I are doing in our lives. We are so much worried about what would happen to us if we do something that is not part of us. I have come across people who do not even turn their heads and see if something happens to others who are on the way. Is it permitted to do good or to do evil? Jesus asked Pharisees on the Sabbath day. None of them answered the question of Jesus.
Jesus continues to do good without worrying about what would happen to him after this. He takes the courageous step of healing a man whose hand was withered. Why are we not taking any extra step in our lives to do something good for others? What blocks us from doing good? Is it about the people who are around us or our own fears? Jesus is not bothered about anyone, but chooses to do good. Let us try ourselves to inculcate this value in our lives.
