God created us in his image and likeness. As Christians we identify our body as the temple of God. Today, we are called to ask ourselves how we maintain our body. Many a time we are happy only to be in our own comfort zone, we are scared to go beyond and to be with oneself.
This is not strange for we are busy finding fault of others like those people who were selling cattle in the temple.
Jesus was accused by the pharisees and the chief priests because he stood up and spoke the truth. This is happening in our present time also when truth is covered up. When anyone dares to stand up and speak the truth, to fight for justice and lift up the downtrodden in the society, he/she faces criticisms from others. Our hearts are filled with pride, envy and jealousy for the one who has a good spirit for others; we wash our hands to support that person.
This is the reality, we try to pull down and get rid of the person who has the courage to stand for the truth and fight against the malpractices in the society. After knowing the truth, we find it hard to accept; and the more evils we get into, we indirectly fail to speak the truth. Thus, we tend to cover up by false stories and propaganda.
All of us are called for a particular mission. As Christians our mission is to follow Christ which means to live and behave like him. This mission is not simple; as disciples of Christ we must have the competence to see and the courage to act in our society.
