Readings: Acts 5:27-33; Jn 3:31-36
The early Christian Church was built by the apostles, and they were the first witnesses of resurrection. Today’s first reading speaks about the tremendous work of the apostles. They were empowered by the Holy Spirit. They joined their voices with zeal and determination that made everyone silent. They became the voice of the voiceless. They said we must obey God rather than men.
In today’s gospel passage, we come across the testimony of John the Baptist about Jesus. According to him, Jesus is the beloved Son to whom the Father has entrusted everything. He can give us eternal life. Faith is an experience that one lives in Christ in the presence and with the power of the Holy Spirit.
John the Baptist is faithful in his role to prepare the way for the Lord. He fearlessly announces the truth about Jesus and the truth that Jesus stands for. Both the readings of the day invite me to have the courage to stand for justice and truth. They inspire me to motivate many young brothers and sisters by being a live witness to Jesus Christ.
I ask God to enable my faith journey to experience Christ and witness to his love not only in words but through my actions.
