We see in the gospel reading that Jesus was not accepted in his village, He was not even heard by them, because he was so familiar to them that they thought he can’t be the son of God. In response to their lack of faith, he steps back in performing any miracle there.
This happens in our life too, we doubt the power of prayer and the Spirit. We constantly ignore the message of God, spoken to us through ordinary people, through priests in their sermons and from our near and dear ones. We often wait to learn from our own falls, rather than succeeding without error.
Today’s reading invites us to have faith in Jesus and to continue his works. We are also called to be ready to accept any challenges that come on our way in proclaiming Christ’s message and to endure rejections and difficulties in his name.
