All of us are here for a purpose, and the Spirit of God continues to inspire us to find our purpose and meaning of life. For some this could be preaching the good news and for others it could be healing through various ways and for others it could be teaching and inspiring the hearts and minds of others.
The Gospel reading speaks about commissioning of the apostles. They were called by Jesus even though they were weak and fragile.
Jesus, after calling the twelve apostles, sends them to continue his mission here on earth. The apostles continued the mission of Christ by entrusting themselves to his hands believing and trusting in his promises. It is he who gave them the strength and courage to preach, to heal, to teach, and thus spread his kingdom values to the people of this entire world.
As the apostles, we too received the same call to continue his mission. He gave us also the same command and the same abilities to expand his kingdom. Are we ready to work for the kingdom of God?
As we have received this call, we too have the great responsibility to be available and ready to face any challenge and difficulty on our way. It is he who guides and leads us. Therefore, let us entrust ourselves to his loving care and trust in his providence.
