Readings: 2 Chr 36:14-16,19-23; Eph 2:4-10; Jn 3:14-21
In the first reading of the day, we see the consequences of disobedience and the eventual restoration by God’s grace. Despite the Israelites’ repeated failures, God’s mercy and faithfulness shine through as he allows them to return and rebuild Jerusalem. This passage reminds us of the importance of repentance and the endless love God has for his people.
In the second reading, we hear about God’s incredible grace and the gift of salvation through faith. It is a beautiful reminder that we are saved not by our works but by God’s grace alone. Our good deeds should flow from gratitude for this gift and not from a place of earning our salvation.
The Gospel reading of the day, emphasizes the light of Christ in a dark world and the choice we have to accept or reject him. It highlights God’s love for us and the hope found in believing in Jesus as our Savior.
The passage encourages us to live in the light, allowing our deeds to reflect God’s goodness and truth. God showers his grace upon us constantly. We need to respond to it with faith and obedience. At times we may feel that God’s grace is not guiding our life. But it is our choice that makes us feel so. Let us walk in the way of light experiencing God’s grace in our daily life.
