“Blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her by the Lord.” Mary is blessed because she believed, she said yes to the word of God, said yes to the thing that seemed to be uncertain, doubtful and impossible to take place.
Because of this she expressed “Let it be with me according to your Word.” Everything that was predestined to happen had happened for our salvation. You, me and everyone is called to be blessed and be a blessing. All it takes is to believe and depends on how much faith I have and how much I trust in him, in him who has called me. I am weak and fragile for sure; I have doubts and lots of questions lingering in my mind. But despite that, he is calling me that I be a blessing, a bearer of his Word and joy to others.
Mary our Mother of God had faith and she said yes and what was promised to her was fulfilled. What do we need more than this greatest example of Mary having said Yes to God? Though what lies beyond the horizon cannot be seen but what he promises he fulfils, Mother Mary has shown that to us.
