In today’s gospel reading, we hear how Jesus heals many people and feeds a large crowd with a few loaves and fish. By healing the sick and meeting the physical needs of the people, Jesus incarnated God’s compassionate love and his comforting presence. God’s compassion and mercy is always open to all who seek him and offer him their littleness to be transformed.
For in the hand of Jesus, everything becomes meaningful and significant. The first part of today’s gospel points out the importance of showing compassion and empathy to others who are in need. We must strive to extend a helping hand and offer support in every possible way.
The second part encourages us to have faith in God’s ability to provide for all our needs, even when the situations seem impossible. So, we are invited today, to seek and go to him in times of need, knowing and trusting that he can bring healing, and restoration. We are to be the people who rely on him and trust in his power and love.
