Today, we celebrate the feast of the Presentation of the Lord. The role of Simeon and Anna in today’s Gospel reminds us of the ultimate purpose of our life that is to love, to know and to serve God with single minded devotion and wholehearted commitment.

“For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations” is the prophetic declaration of Simeon to emphasize his faith experience of receiving the newborn Messiah in his arm. We have received Christ already in our hearts, are we ready to declare our faith in Jesus
fervently?

As radical disciples of Jesus, we have a prophetic dimension to practice and propagate our faith experience and God’s grace in our society. Like Simeon and prophet Anna, we have a responsibility to share our faith experience with the wounded world today, bringing hope to the despondent, giving love to the broken hearted, healing the mind of the depressed and lonely, supporting the poor, and comforting the suffering during this pandemic.

Our faith is the pavement for God’s grace and God’s grace is the reward for our faith. Let us profess our faith in our prophetic actions to make Christ visible to the world and offer him to those who need his abundant grace.
