Today we see Jesus getting disappointed and lamenting about the people of the cities. Jesus had toiled in their land, yet they were reluctant to listen and repent for their immoral life.
Jesus never stopped preaching in times of disappointment. We know that with Jesus will never refuse to accept us provided we go to him with repentant hearts and willingness to be touched. Jesus assures us “come to me all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.”
Today the Gospel asks us not to get discouraged and disappointed easily when things go wrong, because everything has its own time. God is always there with us to help us and to show us his plan for us. It is dangerous when we allow ourselves to be engulfed by disappointments.
But God’s love for us never fails, and we have many examples in the Holy Bible of people who never lost trust in God in times of adversities like Job and Jeremiah. Therefore, let us keep in mind that God’s plans and ways are always more beautiful and greater than all our disappointments and problems.
