Readings: Acts 1: 12- 14; Lk 1: 26-38 (Feast Day)
Today, the Catholic Church celebrates and contemplates on the feast of our Lady of the Rosary. Rosary is the most common and satisfying form of Christian prayer. In rosary, we contemplate our saviour, Jesus Christ, as true salvation. The church has many great saints who honoured the rosary as a powerful spiritual weapon. On this feast day, let us reflect on the words of two great men who highlighted the rosary, first, the venerable Fr. Patrick Peyton csc, known as the Rosary Priest, who said “the family that prays together stays together.”
Second, the words of St. Louis de Montfort who gives assurance saying “Never will anyone who prays his Rosary everyday be led astray. This is a statement that I would gladly sign with my blood.” I would like to share an abbreviation of ROSARY : R-Brings Renewal in life, O- Brings Order in life, S- Brings Success in life, A- Brings Acceptance in life, R- Brings Relationship with humanity, Y- Yields us to good quality life.
The first reading invites us to pray together with Mary, the mother of Jesus, who is also the mother to us all. The Gospel reveals the God’s message to Mary to give birth to the saviour of this world. The annunciation to Mary is an instrument in the salvation of humanity. The affirmative response of Mother Mary to God’s message tell us that nothing is impossible in front of God. On this feast day, let us ask Mother Mary to intercede for us so that we grow in faith and accept his plan in our lives to share his love.
