Once again, Jesus, in today’s gospel, is teaching us with a parable what kind of relationship we have with God the Father.
In this hectic world, we are bombarded with different activities of life. We are preoccupied with our own world and we make our lives more complicated. In fact, we seem to be cheerful and happy externally with all the comforts and luxurious things which we have earned.
We become more self-centered and greedy, and we keep aside the divine aspect. We feel more comfortable to be in touch with the world outside. We even believe that our success is because of our hard work, this is how we actually forget that grace that is coming from above.
When we are in deep trouble, we blame God for not caring for us. It is good to examine our personal relationship with God. There are different ways and means to understand and accept the Word of God. But Jesus is inviting us today to ask oneself, ‘at what levels have I grown in my faith?’
Are we mere spiritual leaders or ones who are deeply rooted in Christ? Let us not complain about the good and bad of our life, but become aware that God is the primary source of our life. Let us deepen our relationship with God and grow in the good soil of faith and bear a hundredfold.
