Readings: Is 49: 3, 5-6; 1Cor 1: 1-3; Jn 1: 29-34
The readings of today invite me to be holy and to be the light to the world with my way of living. In the first reading, The Lord says to Isaiah that He will show His glory through him.
It is a call for me to glorify the Lord with my life and to act as the Child of God
every day of my life. The Lord also speaks that He would make Isaiah a light to the nations. I am called to walk with the Light of the Lord to be a light myself in the world.
In the second reading, St. Paul tells the people of Corinth that they are sanctified, and they are called to be Holy. To be the light I am called to seek holy things. I am reminded again of the words of Jesus to be Holy as the Heavenly Father is Holy.
In the Gospel reading, John the Baptist testifies that Jesus is the Son of God, and He is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. It motivates me to have a strong conviction in my heart to call Jesus my Savior and Lord. We all are invited to testify that Jesus is the Lamb of God who took the sins of the people away by dying on the Cross through our way of living a holy life giving the light of Jesus to others.
