Readings: Jer 26: 1-9; Jn 11: 19-27
As baptized people, our ultimate goal is to be with the Lord in his mission on earth till the end of our life.
Through the Gospel reading of the day Jesus assures us that when we have faith like Martha and Mary, we can be with him forever. God tells through Jeremiah that people need to listen to his voice which comes in different ways through different people.
And when they failed to listen to his voice, they may fail to reach their goal which is to be with him forever. Very often I waited for God to speak to me directly because of which I failed to recognize various simple conversations of God with me.
For instance, living in the community God has spoken to me through my superiors my friends, and my Spiritual Directors. I believe that he has spoken to all of us in different ways. He has spoken through my parents, my siblings, and my neighbors.
But very often I failed to listen to them. Thinking that I know better than them and comparing their status in the society which could be lower than mine, I might have boasted that I am superior, and I know better.
Though it sounds simple, this is how we ignore his voice in our day-to-day living. Today through these readings I am invited to examine my life to see whether I have enough faith to listen to his voice or not.
