“Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean”-These are words of conviction and of surrendering heart of the leper to the power of Jesus to do anything if he only willed. If we had faith like this man for a long time, we would have been a miracle in others’ life.
When Mother Teresa left her congregation, she had nobody to supply all that she needed to serve the less privileged. It is her trust in God – that he would provide – that gave her the courage to go on without hesitation. God did show up in different forms through many generous people. What makes some of the great people achieve anything they want is the faith and hope that the best is waiting.
God is willing to help us with our task if we take the first steps with faith, not that there would no problems, but the trust in him that assures us of a positive result. Faith opens our minds to see things we never understand, not the other way around. It illumines our pathways in times of confusion. Faith nourishes our hearts and soul. “When you have faith in God, you don’t have to worry about the future.
You just know it’s all in his hands. You just go and do your best.” said Elder Bryan Mathison. A leper went to Jesus and proclaimed his faith. He received the healing he deserved. Why can’t this be in us as well?
Jesus is inviting us, ‘Have faith,’ even the little faith that we have has the potential for change, if we have faith in the right person.
