Readings: Ezek 36:23-28; Mt 22:1-14

The readings of the day present to us the parable of the wedding banquet. Through this parable, Jesus invites us to share the joy of spreading his kingdom on this earth. As we look into the secular world, there is lot of competition. For example, for one post, many people attend the interview, while only the competent and talented people get the job.
Through the parable, Jesus tells us the same thing: though many are called, only a few are chosen. To be a chosen one of God, I need to live a life practicing virtue. At this moment of crisis, my virtues should be in line with compassion, kindness, and readiness to help anyone in need.
This could be through a kind word or just an encouraging action or helping the poor through my prayers through which I can give hope to another person to live his life. Today, I ask God to bestow on me the grace to be committed in practicing the virtues of my life so that I may look at others through the eyes of Christ and have the heart and mind of Jesus to help them in their need.
