I Can Overcome All Fears With His Help

Only fishermen know the struggle of going into the rough seas. When the disciples were afraid, they woke up Jesus who was asleep. The boat was being flooded by the waves.

I wonder how Jesus was asleep even when the boat was being besieged by the waves! I am sure that it was to reveal his glory that even the winds and the sea obey him! The disciples were taken aback by the act of Jesus. After reaching the shore they must have shared this extraordinary experience to many who came in contact with them. Indeed, Jesus saved them.

I am also likely to face storms as I move on in the small boat of my life. These storms test my faith. The lesser the faith, the greater the fear. This miracle of Jesus indicates that he can calm the storms in me. I cannot expect the sea to be calm always, but I can ask Jesus to calm the storms always: the storms within and the storms without. So, whenever I find myself doubting how far I can go, Jesus insists me to look back and remember how far I have come. I remember all the battles I have won and all the fears I have overcome with his constant help.
