The Prophetic Economy will explore ways of developing an economy that works for people and nature. It aims to create a network of organizations that, through exchange and collaboration, can develop sustainable and concrete solutions to the social and environmental problems of today.
The desire that drives the “Prophetic Economy” initiative is to bring change-makers closer together and find new ways of collaboration. The event brings together organizations and people who are conducting a transition to the future we need and desire. The world faces an ecological and social crisis. Climate change and rising inequalities are fuelled by unjust economic structures, short-term policies and out-dated practices.
Guided by a bold vision or a deep vocation, many people around the world passionately believe in the integral human development and sustainability.
The Prophetic Economy wants to stimulate the desire to invention, comparison and creativity in the search for sustainable and collective solutions to the social and environmental problems of our time, with particular attention to the poorest people. During the three days of the event, they will take a path to go into depth, to exchange, and to work in action.
The conference aims to give visibility and recognition to many of the protagonists of change who transmit positive energy in the service of the common good; the tool that will help us to realize this purpose will be a competition of practices of the prophetic economy.
At the same time when the main event will be taking place in Italy, with about 500 representatives from around the world, satellite activities of different nature will be carried out in various countries, including collective economic and ecological actions, with flash mob modes, like responsible consumption and disinvestment in fossil fuels, armaments and hazard, in order to promote investment in sustainability, peace and the future.
