Readings: 1Cor 12:12-14, 27-31; Lk 7: 11-17
The liturgy of the day invites us to be rooted in Christ and feel the presence of the Lord in others. Everyone is created and guided by God and led by the Spirit to live a holy and faithful life. God created everyone equally, but human beings forget the creator and live their life as they want. We tend to fall into the love of self and not bother about other people around us.
God created us with a purpose to live together as one family; our goal is to be faithful to God and live as a happy community where Christ is the center. As humans, we forget to help others in suffering because we say, ‘that it is their problem, not mine.’ When we experience family spirit, we will live a happy and prosperous life.
St. Paul reminds us that we are chosen to be one and invites to live a holy life. So, we should live our life clothing ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. These help us to understand how to treat others and make us think of them as more valuable than ourselves. It would help us to respect and uphold the dignity of everyone with love and equality.
In the gospel, Jesus feels for the woman who lost her only son. He understood the cry of the woman. Then he responded to her by bringing the boy back to life. From this incident, I understand that Jesus lived his life considering everyone as his own family and addressed them as his sisters and brothers. Today, as followers of Christ, you and I are invited to inculcate Jesus’ values particularly that of unity and love.
