Honours are a great way of being recognised for the meritorious work done for the benefit and welfare of a school and its students.
On December 8, 2018, St. Michael’s Sr. Sec. School, New Delhi was ranked the No. 1 School in India by Education Today in the category of ‘Individual attention to students’. The event was held in Bangalore’s Chancery Pavilion and the Principal Rev Fr Dr Sabu Joseph was presented a memento and a certificate.
Top schools of India contested for the award which included CBSE, ICSE, Residential and State Board schools. They were judged on set parameters which were – academic reputation, individual attention to students, infrastructure provision, innovative teaching, safety and hygiene, sports education, value for money, holistic development of the children, leadership management quality and many more.
In an interesting chat, Indian Catholic Matters caught up with Rev Fr Dr Sabu to gather his perspective on the institution bagging the award, his views on value-based and holistic education process, and also on how the school imparts education from a student standpoint.
