Jesus’ Resurrection Has Broken Down All Barriers

Readings: Act 3: 11 – 26; Lk 24: 35 – 48

The readings of the day invite us to reflect on the theme “To be an effective instrument in the hands of God.” After the death of Jesus, all thought it was the end, but it was the starting point of a great event, the “Resurrection of Christ.” Jesus, the risen Lord came to meet his beloved disciples. Initially, the disciples were filled with fear and confusion, but later they experienced the risen Christ.

In the first reading, we see how Peter and Paul were instrumental in preaching the gospel and healing a crippled man. People were astounded to see the miraculous healing, and the Apostles boldly proclaimed that it was in the name of Christ that they performed this miracle. Moreover, the Apostles invited people to repent and believe in the risen Christ. The disciples of Jesus surrendered their lives to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth and became effective instruments in the hands of God to make the risen Christ known to the world.

Today, we are invited to become effective instruments to share the resurrection experience with others through our words, deeds, and actions. Let us commit ourselves to trusting the Lord and rejoicing in the resurrection of Christ because the resurrection of Jesus has broken down all the barriers on the cross that prevented us from experiencing God’s unconditional love and mercy.
