Bengaluru: In a concerted effort by the Bangalore Archdiocese, the Archbishop of Bangalore Most Rev Dr Peter Machado has requested people to come forward and support by way of money and material (food grains, new clothes and new utensils) in every parish and institution for the cause of flood affected.
The prelate suggested that a specially marked dumb box be kept in the churches and institutions throughout the month of August 2019 till the middle of September 2019 for this purpose. “Besides, the second Sunday collection of September will be destined for this purpose,” he said.

Heavy rains and floods have created havoc in the State of Karnataka. Houses of lakhs of people have been waterlogged and destroyed, leaving them displaced and forced to take refuge in relief camps. There is acute shortage of safe drinking water, food, health facility and shelter. Never before had the State witnessed a calamity of this scale.
“We believe that with your support, we can play an important role in mitigating the effects of the disaster and provide immediate relief to victims. Contribute generously to the BMSSS Relief Fund,” the Archbishop urged.
